A Little Warmer

09 February 2015 | Vero Beach
We woke up to flat calm on Saturday and left New Smyrna. We arrived at Titusville around 1pm and decided to go a little further south. We made it to a bridge between Cocoa Beach and Melbourne. Spent a very quiet night protected by the bridge. Another calm morning Sunday and we set off again with Vero in our sights. The breeze came up a bit against us and a bit cool. Lots of boats out when we came to Sebastian Inlet. Some left large wakes behind them, others were nice and called us, both slowing down for a pass. We finally arrived at the marina in Vero and tied beside another sailboat, a Canadian couple from Ontario. We were finally sitting out in our cockpit sipping drinks. This is the first time this trip it has been warm enough to do this. Those of you home cold and shoveling, sorry but boy am I glad we finally got warm. Also the first night we left a window open without freezing. We hope to meet up with friends here and maybe make it as far as Stuart again in the next few weeks. Will have rain tonight but the rest of the week looks good. I hope the next storm misses you (thats what my weather.com says.) Hope they are right.
