Heading south
26 January 2016 | St Augustine
We got away from Green Cove yesterday a little after 9. Stayed an extra day because it was cold at night and we could plug in. It was a cool trip down and it was a bit warmer when we stopped in Jacksonville at Metropolitan Park. We had no problem getting through the two bridges. We left this morning at 7 and had the current helping a bit then against us in the river. When we turned into the ICW the current pushed us for a couple of hours then slack, then the tide going out in St Augustine pulled us that way. We arrived in St Augustine about an hour before low tide and went through the bridge at 3:30. Fastest trip we have ever had. Hope we can use the tides the next couple of days. It is saying rain but we will see and hope to make it to Titusville Thursday and maybe Vero Beach on Saturday. Will update you when we get to Vero.
