Another week at the beach

07 March 2017
We have been here just over a week and have been enjoying the area. We took a trolley along the island to Publix. We are on a long narrow island and the trolley goes the length of it. Back at the dock we met a couple from the other day and got to see their Bengal cat. Beautiful, and looks like a wild cat but small and tame. They also told us to go in and inlet near our boat and there was a small dock beside the grocery store Topps Market. Went in for a visit, sort of in the trees with a floating dock connected to a dock behind the store. Quite secluded and a few guys hanging around it so just a short trip to store. The guys were still there having a drink and one was in the store getting more. Convenient though.
On Friday David took the water pump off, it had been dripping, and went to DYC a place here and they had a look at it. He came back with a new one. $$ He put the new one in and noticed we needed to replace the smaller fan belt. We had one so no problem. All back together and we start the boat up. There is water coming in so he looks some more and finds it is the anti syphon plug. It seems plugged but he blew through it and it seems fine now.
Saturday we walked to the beach and out on the pier. We watched the dolphins swimming right by the people swimming. Great view from up above. Got some ice cream and sat watching people. When people left their tables after eating birds would come in, land on the table and eat the food.
Sunday Mike, Lynn, and Dexter came down for a visit. We walked to the beach, David watched Dexter while we went out on the pier. No dogs allowed on the pier or beach. We had lunch there and one of the few times I have heard Dex bark, bird dog, didn't like the birds landing near the table. Spent some time enjoying the company by the beach. Great to see them.
Yesterday we came ashore and paid for another week. Then took the trolley to Walmart. It has been windy here and the trip in by dingy has been ok but travelling back out has been damp to wet. It is suppose to die down today and looks like a good week ahead. Next decision is when to head back across. Depends on the weather.
