Back home to all this white stuff.

We left Florida on Saturday and had a good trip the first two days. Unfortunately on Monday we arrived in Maine to snow. Not a happy sight to see. I got out of the van to go check in at the hotel and am walking through slush in my flip flops. It was a beautiful morning in Pennsylvania when we left. Tuesday, although cold, was a nice day to travel. The sun was coming out and the roads were clear.
We had come out of the water on the 28th a day later than planned because of high winds. It was good to be on shore. Our first morning we are woken up at 4:20 by a rooster right behind the boat. We noticed this evening while sitting out in the cockpit a rooster and his 3 hens climbed up the stairway to the boat behind us, jump up onto the solar panel and then fly up into the trees to roost for the night. They did this every night between 7 and 7:30. Our wake up call the next mornings we at least a bit later. After 6. We took our time packing up, getting a few projects done. Water pump taken off, and replacing parts to the holding tank one was plugged. We just have a hose to replace when we return. Seems most things on sailboats are hard to get at and in small places.
We covered and left the boat down south on Saturday and today, Thursday, have been down to uncover the boat here.

Not in Titusville.

We left Titusville on Friday. A long trip to Daytona (tide and wind) then a long trip yesterday to St Augustine. This morning we left around 8:30 and arrived at Palm Cove Marina around 3. We plan to make it to Green Cove Springs tomorrow, with haul out on Thursday. No rush in heading home, will be at Green Cove at least a week.
While in Titusville we really enjoyed ourselves being on the dock. We would do this again. It was rocky on the dock a couple of times with NE wind. We saw a rocket launch on the 15th.
We will have lots of projects in Green Cove either before we head home or when we come back. Have not been very good at my log or journal if I think of anything else will send in next blog before we head home.

Enjoying Titusville

We have been here a week and have really enjoyed being here. We had a couple of cooler days and the wind blowing in made for a bit of waves, but not bad. We have seen a couple of manatee and some dolphins. We went on the bus and got a few bus passes. As seniors we can get 10 trips for only 6 dollars.
We have a dog park, a boat ramp and a regular park beside us to the north and a large park south of us just past the Westland Marine and workyard beside us. We walked to the bridge south of us and underneath to the boardwalk and pier. We are enjoying our stay here.

We arrived here on Saturday and we are in a slip hooked up to power. We plan to stay here for a month. We have air conditioning. We were pleased that it worked because we have not used it for 2 years. It is nice to not worry about how much power we use.
We left Vero Beach on Friday and had a nice trip up.
While at Vero we enjoyed the free bus service. Here we can get a monthly deal of $21 for seniors or $10.50 for 10 trips.
We have a few projects to do while here, change a line for the boon, fix the back step, and check the impeller. It is nice to just step off the boat and walk, instead of getting in and out of the dingy.
Weather has been great, it is suppose to cool off for a few days and then back to warm again. Will try to write more later, but not much to report.

A week of paradi

14 February 2019
This last week until yesterday has been hot and sunny. Since we arrived here on Feb 2 we have had great weather. Hot days and warm nights. It was almost enjoyable to have a cool night. Mostly we have just been relaxing. The new battery has been great. David did some rewiring and keep your fingers crossed we have had no problem with power. We did have to use the generator yesterday morning and evening. A dark and windy day. We try to get out every day for a walk or in town. We have been to the dog park and I cant stay long or I want one. Not much to do on the boat just a big clean up once in a while. We have a great neighbor tied beside us he makes us want to keep the boat neat. Not much else going on just really enjoying staying in one place. Im sure we will get the urge to move soon but plan a month here.

Vero (Velcro) Beach

We arrived here on Saturday. We were stuck in Titusville for 3 nights due to wind again. We got checked in and just had enough time to get a bus ride into Publix for a few groceries and back before the buses stopped for the day. On Sunday we had a visit from Jim and Mary. We went out for lunch and they had to be in Sebastian in the afternoon so it was a short visit but great catching up. On Monday we took the bus to Walmart for a new boat battery. Replacing a 5 year old one. They said we couldnt take a battery on the bus so we called Klub Kab. A very nice man picked us up and brought us back to the marina. He was friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Back at the boat my Handy Man ( that's why I keep him) replaced the battery . The weather has been nicer since the 1st of Feb. Finally using screens instead of closing up.
We are on mooring 34 beside a gentleman who use to own Ron Guards old boat. His boat was so clean and neat we hated to tie beside him after 2 weeks of travelling. Finally getting straightened up and outside cleaned.
We are planning to stay here for a month just enjoying and relaxing before heading a bit north again. Maybe Titusville or St Augustine for a month. But that is too far away to think about.
