Sad to say, it is day four of our trip and I have not yet begun this blog. So we begin by backtracking.

Thursday last was a memorable day...up at dawn to make multiple trips to Goodwill, St Vinney's, South Shore YC and the storage lot. In the middle of which, of course, there was a house showing (yes, Bill is selling his house). To compound the confusion, the contractors were blasting up the driveway in front of the garage in preparation for laying new cement. Complete chaos. Lucky for us, Bill's daughters, Jane and Carrie, stepped in to help. It was 11pm when we made our last run to the storage lot to drop off boxes and store the SUV. Jane and her husband, Chad, then took us and the last load of boat stuff to the club at 2am. After farewells, we managed to work our way through the bags and boxes to our berth to get a couple hours sleep.

We were up at dawn to perk our coffee at the outlet on the outside wall of the dock master's house, before untying our lines and casting off for Manitowoc. The air was cool, the wind light, the waves minimal, a good start. By late morning we had raised the genoa to supplement the engine. While underway, we began unpacking and storing the supplies and provisions in the multiple bags and boxes stuffed into the interior of the boat.

We got fuel and secured a dock for the night in Manitowoc by 5pm. Jane, Chad, Ayden, Emma and Carrie drove up to take us to a farewell dinner at the Courthouse Pub. Thank you, all!!!
