Baltimore Marine Center, Lighthouse Point, was the perfect place to wait out the storms. We had feared a slip in that area of Baltimore would be difficult to find as the weekend featured the Fell's Point Fall Festival. The foul weather had caused many slip cancellations and eventually the event itself was cancelled. So there were many vacant slips in this huge marina. Our slip neighbor told us his boat at weathered two hurricanes in this marina with no damage, so we felt pretty safe. Predictions of 40-50 knot winds never materialized in the harbor.

Our first full day in Baltimore we never left the boat as it rained constantly for hours and hours. We love our dry boat!!! The wind outside in the Bay and in the river was howling but we were perfectly protected in our slip. We were relieved when Joaquin turned out to sea, but the nor'easter continued it's beating of the entire east coast.

Saturday we were treated to a day with Beth, Bill's daughter, Toby (her husband) and Nate (her stepson). They drove us all over Baltimore on shopping errands, and joined us for lunch and dinner in Fell's Point. Unfortunately, the weather never cooperated for us to take them on the boat, but it was still a great reunion.

Sunday's task was to find a place nearby to watch the Packer game. A short ride via UBER brought us to Louey's Sports Bar.... three floors of TVs turned to every possible game. We found many green and gold jerseys in the crowd shouting Go Pack Go.

Finally, Monday provided sun, light winds and an opportunity to head south. We heard newscasts of the damage all up and down the coast from tidal flooding, including the marina at Atlantic City where we had stayed. We were happy our choices had given us safe places to wait out the weather. Hopefully, the damages in the Carolinas will be cleared before we get that far south.
