After saying our goodbyes to Evan and Sam we left Treasure Cay to spend a few days at Green Turtle Cay. Green Turtle Cay was nice and is one of the first major Bahamian settlement boaters see when crossing the Gulf Stream from the US. There are a couple of upscale resorts and marinas in White Sound where we anchored.

We went ashore for lunch at the Bluff House and took a stroll on the beach afterwards on the ocean side of the island.

Then came the rain and with the rain came lots of mosquitoes. Because we were anchored in a sheltered harbor near shore it was hard to keep them off the boat. It was dreadful having to keep all the hatches closed because of the rain making it hot and having to battle the mosquitoes inside the boat. I'm sure Patsy and Bob were thinking "hope this isn't what it's going to be like for the whole vacation".

John moved the boat a little further north with the first break in the weather. It was a nice anchorage and we did manage to escape the mosquitoes because it was open and further away from shore. There were a couple of wrecks nearby that we snorkeled and of course Owen speared a fish as soon as he got in the water at the first wreck - a Gray Snapper that we enjoyed for dinner later that night.

We visited another wreck just off a small inhabited island called Powell Cay the next day and encountered a shark. Not sure what kind of shark it was but Owen, John and Bob were the first ones in the water swimming around the wreck when Owen saw its tail. Bob was swimming next to Owen when he informed everyone there was a shark in the water. He turned to Bob and asked if he wanted to see it. Owen said by the time he turned back around to show Bob where he saw the shark Bob was back in the dinghy. Probably because I was yelling to everyone "get back in the dinghy, they're very territorial"!!! We all had a good laugh once everyone was back on the boat.
