Well we made it to Brighton 3 days ago and are now a little stuck here with a prevailing SW wind blowing up to 30knots. Our trouble is we want to head SW....! The aim for our next stop is Cherbourg which as the crow flies is about 90 miles away across the channel.
Brighton marina is lovely if a little expensive for us (£41 per night) but it has great facilities and there's loads to do here. We've been into town to do the seaside thing - eat a stick of rock, chips and icecream !
We took a walk along the beach towards the town today which took us past the nudist beach, Finn was in fits of giggles looking at "old mens winkies and bums" He has also become a very keen if a little unsucessful fisherman and has been taking lessons from a very patient man called Chris moored up next to us. We're going to try catching mackerel and the next passage hopefully !
The forcast is for less wind later tonight so we may move on about midnight......but who knows what another 6 hours will bring. Anyway I'm hoping our next entry will be soon and from France....fingers crossed for a favourable wind or no wind so we can motor across!
PS Happy birthday to Rosie & Dan who are both two today XXX
