Happy Birthday Nan !

We Just wanted to publically and officially wish my Nan Cracknell (Nanny Crackers as we affectionately like to call her, or Cranny Knackers after two bottles of Sauvignon Blanc.....) Happy 80th Birthday!

Let me tell you about her, she is at 80 still exceptionally active and has always been a massive part of both my sisters and my childhood right through to now. She would provide all the usual Grandparent comforts like trips to the forest for one of her famous picnics - rain or shine, fish and chips on the beach at Aldeburgh, babysitting for Sal & I when we were growing up, endless games of badminton - even though she was totally knackered and fed up with playing it and she still keeps all the scrapbooks that we made as kids, cutting and sticking like our lives depended on it. I remember when my parents had gone to Rhodes for a weeks holiday once, my grandparents came over to stay for a week. They helped me muck out the horses as well as cooking, cleaning and generally spoiling two very over indulged teenage girls rotten, in return my sister decided to show my Nan a video - Debbie does Dallas !! Yes we watched a porn film with my Nan who was completely shocked but the horror soon turned to complete hysterical laughter and Nan, Sal & I were rolling on the floor crying tears of laughter ......
One of the most memorable times from my childhood were weekends spent at their bungalow. I was the centre of their attention and to top it all Grandad would bring me & Nan a bacon sarnie and a cuppa in bed for breakfast...bliss ! Now all that energy that they both have is lavished onto Finn & his cousin Harry - they are two very lucky lads.

Although we can't be with you today Nan to help celebrate, I will be opening our favourite bottle of wine (you know the one !) and raising a glass to you and wishing you so much love. We miss you. Happy Birthday. XXX
