Vive La France

Cleared customs in St Lucia and weighed anchor by 9 am. Well, again we had similar weather to the day before, much heavier wind than predicted and large seas, but by now we were getting used to this. 3 hours at 8-9 knots over to the southern tip of Martinigue and then a very pleasant, brusque sail down the coast to St Pierre in the lee of the island. Gorgeous, sunny day. Anchored right near the town dock so I could scope out the restaurant scene and make a first pass at French cheese and rose at Huit a Huit supermarket. Forgetting that French restaurants don't open until 7pm, we settled in for naps etc. on the boat. Although the rains/drizzle came back, we ventured ashore for a wonderful dinner at La Tamaya. The next am, Brad and Chip went ashore for more wine and cheese and discovered the Saturday am market (I had no idea what day it was!), returning with fresh tuna and avocados, tomatoes etc., and of course, more wine. Then we were off for Dominica.....
