Just planning

14 August 2010 | Bergen
I finally got myself around to establish a sailing blog. Well, it is actually going to be "a planning to cruise blog" for some time. For the time being (and quite some years now) I have been between yachts, so to speak. The last boat was a Hallberg-Rassy 29, lovely and seaworthy, that had to go because of time restraints. Those restraints are still there, but to a slightly lesser degree. Anyway, that has to be bent next year to conform to the next yacht introduced to our household. Next June we are taking delivery of a Hallberg-Rassy 342. We are through specifying the outfitting, and are starting planning for the next summer cruising around the Kattegat.
As we have not done any cruising for many years, and living at the west coast of Norway (Bergen), this is a bit adventurous for a couple getting back into serious sailing.
This blog will be about the preparations, thinking and experiences as we go along. It might be of interest for those wanting to cruise the Scandinavia for the first time, and others going into yachting as a new kind of activity. For me, it serves as a way of reflecting around what we are getting into, and hopefully meet some new people and collecting good advice.
