Visit to yard

10 May 2011 | Elløs
William
Visited builder's (Hallberg-Rassy) yard last week. Freezing cold (that's May in Scandinavia for you). Still, the place was crowded with new yachts waiting for their owners. One couple was there taking delivery, and I was impressed by the attention and assistance given them from the yard. Anyway, my boat is still looking somewhat unfinished, but the people guiding us around assured us it would be finished in time. We will take delivery, and then start at the regatta "Where everybody win" - perfect for us!

In the meantime, there is a ton of papers to sort out for insurance, Norwegian VAT, registration, call signals, name (Mystery), and on and on. I am amazed by all the paperwork involved, making the consumer-experience very special indeed! On the other hand, the Norwegian importer and the yard itself have been nothing but helpful during the whole process.
