Taking delivery

After an early breakfast we called the yard for time of meeting. We agreed on 1000 and had some time delibering what clothes to wear. It suddenly dawned upon us that there would be a lot of time spent in and around the boat, and even a trial sail.
At the agreed hour we were greeted by Olof who had been in charge of the building project from it's start, carrying an impressive load of folders and papers - all of them relating to our boat. It turned out that most of them were manuals for the boat itself, and all the extra equipment ordered. I was looking forward to dig into all the wonderful toys represented by those pages (not finished yet!).
It is clear that the yard has given a lot of thought to making this day something to remember. The sails were installed together with Olof, giving us a kind of bonding with the boat (yes, I know, but still...). The whole affair was actually very time consuming and intense, and being invited to lunch was extremely welcome. After this there were more instructions and finishing work to do, and the day were rounded off with a bottle of champagne presented us from the yard.
All in all it was a great day, terminating a very pleasant transaction starting last summer with the signing of the contract. Everybody involved have been extremely forthcoming and patient, and the evening in our own boat, at the yard's harbour, with strawberry complete with champagne, just made it all perfect (and not to be forgot: the provided full tank of diesel, free space at the harbour with land electricity, and even free WiFi).
A special thank to Olof and Ole-Petter (Ole-Petter Pollen is the Norwegian agent for Hallberg-Rassy) for all their support.
