To Lerwick

2014 was a hectic year with regards to sailing. First, I opted for a trip to Lerwick on a skippered Hallberg-Rassy 46. This beautiful yacht is owned and sailed by Leon Schultz (www.reginasailing.com). We had a couple of wonderful days in Stavanger, the fjord in that area with the well known "Prekestolen (a feature of one of the mountains along the fjord).
Then it was north to Haugesund and west to Utsira where we waited for some fine wind. This we had, giving us a fresh sail to the Shetlands. A wonderful sail in the archipelago of the western part of Norway and then the North Sea.
I have participated in the yearly races going from Bergen to Lerwick, but doing the trip with Leon and the rest of the company topped that many times over. Have a look at his site.
As it turned out my wife and me came along a month or so later for a cruise with Leon and another couple at the Scotland's west coast. Read about it in next entry.
