Finally!
26 January 2020 | Cayo costa island / Pelican Bay
Don Winchell | Nicer than forecast
It seems like we're finally "Cruising". Totally protected anchorage on a barrier island on the Gulf of Mexico. After leaving at 7AM we sailed all the way down Charlotte Harbor with the wind behind us or off the beam. We only used the motor to get off the anchor and final approach and entering the anchorage.
So nothing to do and no where to go tomorrow or the next day. Maybe take the dinghy to the beach on the gulf side.
The boat sails quite well and briskly with very little effort. Lots of room aboard. So now maybe a few days "off", some puttering around on the boat and local exploring, napping etc.
It's been a long haul, but overall pretty enjoyable and have met a bunch of really nice people.
Now for hamburgers!
