Ah! New Bottom Paint

We just repainted the bottom, finally switching from the dull-but-functional black to bright and flashy and hopefully also functional red.

Why Everyone is Waiting

09 November 2010 | South Portland, ME
We are still in South Portland, Maine. Sunday night (Nov 7) an offshore low mixed with what was left of Hurricane Tomas played havoc on the New England coast. We had winds as high as 63 mph and sustained winds in the 50s from the northeast - near hurricane force at times. We are in a very protected marina - but could actually see white water in the Portland channel, a very unusual sight. Tomas does not seem to want to leave and is just hanging around - circling and circling - so everyone waits. I am told there are over 100 boats in Newport, RI waiting for a weather window - which may not come too soon.

Alas, we will probably miss this weather window. During the storm, our neighbors boat broke its stern line and slammed into ours. The impact damaged our port side so we are waiting for the seas to die down so we can be pulled out of the water - yep back to land again. We will once again be in the good hands of the crew of Portland Yacht Services. We know they will do a fantastic job and get us going south as soon as they can.
