Ah! New Bottom Paint

We just repainted the bottom, finally switching from the dull-but-functional black to bright and flashy and hopefully also functional red.

Leaving St. Martin

Passage: Simpson Bay, St. Martin to Deshais, Gaudeloupe
.
John went over to the French side to check out and to buy a final baguette. He returned and we headed over the Dutch side for one more trip to Island Water World for more paper charts. We also took one more chance at the Grand Marche for some final provisions - sandwich meat and bread. We got back late to the boat and weren't sure we could make the 11:30 bridge, but John thought we still could. We packed up the dinghy and had just 15 minutes to get the anchor up and over to the bridge. I motored through the channel while John finished taking up the anchor. We made it with 10 minutes to spare. Thru the bridge, sail up and we are off to Gaudeloupe. It looks like the wind will be east which should make things a bit more pleasant than our Anegada Passage.

Yes, and it was great fun to see my name on almost all the stores and street signs.
