Ah! New Bottom Paint

We just repainted the bottom, finally switching from the dull-but-functional black to bright and flashy and hopefully also functional red.

"Old Ironsides" out for her July 4th trip to greet well-wishers and to turn her in her berth.

We had to leave the Caribbean to Find a Hurricane

29 October 2012 | Boston, MA
We are now feeling the winds and rain of Hurricane Sandy and she hasn't even come ashore yet. Boston is pretty well shut down - and all the subways and buses will stop running at 2 p.m. Our marina has been evacuated so we are now hangout out safe and warm at the Marriott Residence Inn - right next door to the Constitution Marina. We can see Windrifter out the window and at least keep an eye out on her from here. I went out awhile ago to check the lines and there is a good blow developing. All lines are holding. There is a lovely pool and hot tub here - with of course a view of the water. It seems a very strange site to sit by the pool and watch your boat bob in the wind, but not much more we can do for her. Hopefully tomorrow we will be let back into the marina and all will be right as rain.
