When we left Marina Del Rey, Tom and Monica of s/v Tanga appeared in their dinghy cruising the harbors. We first met them in Morro Bay and are bumping into them in various spots.. Check out the gallery for great picture of Wind Spirit leaving MDR harbor taken by Monica!
Crossing to San Pedro point, we kept our eyes peeled for the whales at the upwelling again, but they must have been off today...nada....
Fearing the worst when crossing the busy shipping lanes of the LA harbor, we were happy to see that Sunday is a good day to transit the port..no moving ships!...nada.
There's a lot going on in Long Beach/ Seal Beach area from what we could see: Sailboaters, stinkpotters, dinghy cruisers, paddleboarders, beachers and kites! There were lots of boats on the return trip from Catalina on a Sunday afternoon , too. You could see the "freeway" to the island.
