Wings will spend the winter in Petersburg. We reached that decision with a lot of thought and realized that what we need is here and we can reach Anchorage in 2 hours.

We've bought tickets for next Thursday, so we'll be back home on Thursday afternoon, cats in tow. Although it's a bit earlier than we had thought, it's getting cold and dark. All travel is between the fronts that stack up five and six deep.

We're planning our strategy for winterizing the boat, but the main one is whether we'll leave the boat in the water or on the hard, and where we can find heated storage. What to take, what to leave: important decisions. We'd also like to store the sails when they're dry, but it's got to stop raining.
