Voyages

John Margus, the mastermind of this operation, has successfully pulled us out of the water and power-washed the hull. We're sitting about 15 feet in the air, atop his trailer. Quite an experience to be hauled around on a trailer while aboard our 13 ton boat!

We'll stay here for the night, then get hauled to the yard tomorrow. This guy is a stickler for protecting the environment: did the washing on an impervious surface and pumped all the water the effluent into a tank for recycling. Really pretty cool. The hull and such are in excellent condition, so good that it's a surprise. We need zincs all around, but otherwise all it good.

About:	We've been married since 1991, and both retired from our respective jobs (teacher and attorney) after long careers. We live in the most exotic of the United States: Alaska. We cruise on Wings for half the year, enjoying our home state the other part of the year.
Extra:	We've sailed Wings Southward from Alaska since August, 2010. We joined the BajaHaha from SoCal to Mexico in 2012. We joined the Pacific Puddle Jump in 2013 and crossed the Pacific Ocean. Wings "over-summered" in French Polynesia. We continued our journey through western French Polynesia, [...] Rarotonga in the Cook Islands, the Kingdom of Tonga, then on to Fiji. We left Wings in a keel trench cut into the ground to await our return. In April, 2015, we returned to Fiji and Bill and crew sailed Wings back upwind through Vava'u, Tonga; Rarotonga, Cook Islands; and to Bora Bora in French Polynesia. After three years in French Polynesia, their Customs laws required a tax to import the boat, or that we depart the country. We chose the latter, sailing to and from Rarotonga in the Cook Islands.
