We Leave!

30 March 2013 | Cabo San Lucas
Excited Bill and Crew
At long last, after years in the making, we leave today. Amazing. I don't have a lot of time to write this, so I'll be brief.

We had a nice few days cruising coast-wise to Cabo from La Paz. I got a few blogs posted via the SSB, as you know.

On this last day, things were a bit more hectic. We have confirmed that we have water loss from our starboard tank and have some numbers to use. We'll buy more gas to compensate by making more water. We just don't have time to do more. Somewhere, we'll have the tank removed and patched.

I've got to figure out how to make the damned whisker pole work by fabricating some kind of end for it. I hope I can manage something.

Yesterday, we were all lolling in the cockpit and were suddenly awakened by a huge thump and boat movement. What? A whale appeared suddenly in our wake The damn thing had come up under us and hit the boat! We immediately did a quick leak check but all was well, thankfully.

Conni has some last minute clothes washing and provisioning to do. I have boat chores and we host the Derrick family, too: Chip's family here in Cabo on vacation.

Wish us well.
