Cloudy day today and less wind that we would wish. That means we have no solar and no water generator, so we're running the Honda. That means that we can charge all of our electronics, though, and that's something. BTW, cloudy does NOT mean cool! It's over 80 below decks.
Wind steering doing all the steering. Alternative energy works when it can. We all gather around the Ham during the radio net and it's like the old days when families gathered around the big radio. Great image! Conni's meals have been unbelievable. Even if we were sitting in a marina, they'd be great, but doing all of this cooking while the boat's on her ear is amazing. Kudos to the cook! Chip learns more and more each day. We can just mention some tasks and he knows exactly what to do. He's collecting the night's flying fish and is trying to teach the pelagic birds how to fetch. Hmmm...
When it's this hot and rolly, it's hard to sleep, so we're all a bit deprived. The boom vang vibrated loose night before last, just stripping bolts out of the mast. Damn! I tapped a few new holes and used some hose clamps to help support and hope that it lasts. We're still trying to free the end on the spinnaker pole. It's moving but not enough. Perhaps in a few days we'll be able to use it. Without it, we can't use our jib and it's dropping our speed.
Our new motto: Less N, More W.
