To Bora Bora

04 June 2015
Last Leg Bill
We motored for the first 24 hours but have finally picked us some good wind and we're zipping along at 4-5 kts. Moor rises have been spectacular: full Moon over the Pacific! First night out on my 0400-0800 watch, Moon suddenly appeared and I thought it was the stern of a very close cruise ship. Popped up and got handheld VHF for collision avoidance contact. Silly me. First time that it's happened.

Usual breaks and equipment failures. Fridge out and must work on that before watch today.

Phil doing well, Darden doing well. Nice to have a sailor aboard other than me. Those two tussle with tacking and I can sit back and read. Phil's learned a lot. Darden cooked the first meal and Phil the second and both were tops.

First 24 motoring because of winds from NE: where were those when we needed them last week? Should be veering to SE today and will make route to East possible and Bora Bora is more East than North.

Last let of this trip! Once in Bora Bora and checked into French Polynesia, we cruise to Tahiti to send Darden home and Conni arrives.

More later.
