29 August 2023 | Relais Mehana Hotel, Huahine
William Ennis | Windy and rainy
We're well but have been trapped on the boat for a few days with small chores and bad weather. It's been windy and rainy and uncomfortable to be out and about, although we did sneak a day's walk on Sunday.

Plans for now are to pull off the mooring tomorrow morning and get all the way to Apu Bay on Taha'a. Tomorrow's weather seems the best for a few days, so we'll go as we can. I've completed the engine check and all is well.

We're at the Relais Mehana Hotel on southeast Huahine in Avea Bay. It's one of our favorite locations and we had cocktails and stole a shower on Sunday. If we ever had guests who didn't relish the boat life, this is where we'd send them.

Today, we're stealing Internet access and I hope to get this posted. We also have some garbage to dump, and we hope to steal another shower and get cocktails tonight, too. They have fine meals here, so we might even splurge and dine with them.

Weather has been problematic and if we have good sun, we don't need to run our generator, but yesterday in the rain, we had to run it several hours. It's a good lesson on the utility of solar panels here.

More later.
