Long Hard Day....

30 November 2014 | Oceanside, CA
Motored into wind and chop
This was one of my least favorite sails. There were small, but steep seas that we had to buck every 3 seconds. It made it extremely uncomfortable and slow - the boat would almost shudder to a stop and gather itself and start picking up speed again. Had to motor because the wind was right in our faces and we were on a schedule (always a bad idea, but its one of the differences between short-distance coastal cruising and longer distance sailing). I was very happy to get in and tie up at dock.

There were some electrical problems. It appears to be overcharging of the batteries. I need to find out what that is all about and won't be leaving tomorrow for San Diego. There is bad weather in the forecast for Tuesday so it looks like Oceanside is my home for three or four days. The good news is that when I do take off for San Diego, it will be with the wind from behind... as it should be.
