Maiden voyage 2014

21 January 2014 | Isla Mujeres
Tigs
After an uneventful five day passage, landfall at Marina Paraiso on the Mexican Island of Isla Mujeres, 676 miles from Seabrook, Texas. Watch schedules were at six hour intervals with just four hours of hand steering in calm conditions while the autopilot messed up. Kat and Gordon aboard the Tayana previously owned by Wayne, also named Dances With Dragons, hailed us as we approached and saw us safely docked. What welcome faces.

As for the passage, we missed a couple of good weather windows with suitably strong winds from a good direction for the passage, however the grib file predicted rather light winds for the timing of our passage, resulting in about half the passage being under motor, but that's sailing for you, or not in this instance. Rather this than what the Gulf of Mexico can throw at you in all its might as Kat and Gordon can attest.

Customs/immigration formalities concluded .... almost ready to explore the island and relax. Life Is Good aboard.
