Adonai Venture Scouts !
26 July 2014 | Sea Of Abaco Bahamas
Rainbows!
A week of rainbows and beautiful sunsets aboard Adonai with Venture Scout Crew 194, 500 & 3292 from Brown Deer Wisconsin, still smiling even after missing their flight and being a day late.
We start out the trip with a swim test and snorkel just off Matts Lowe Cay the most beautiful private island in the Sea of Abaco. In the morning award winning breakfast of banana chocolate chunk pancakes and sausage on the grill was served to start a new day pulling the anchor and moving on.
A new stop this week was to Don't Rock just off of Treasure Cay. Jumping off the cliff was well enjoyed by the crew and Captain Ted who raced to be first up on the rock scoping out the sea below.
Our unfortunate mishap this week was having our prized fishing pole and rod holder which was mounted on Adonai's transom ripped off into the Sea of Abaco by a Yahoo in a triple outboard center console speeding 50 feet off our stern. They must have been late for Nippers happy hour on Guana Cay. To say the least we were not impressed by their recklessness on the sea and sad to lose a sedimental rod and reel.
Off of North Guana is a speculator reef to explore. The guys were thrilled to see a shark amongst the coral heads. Returning to Adonai they came to a conclusion " One shark is curiosity , two sharks is a conspiracy, and three sharks a murder scene!"
We were chased by a rainstorm, sailed great winds, sat under a star lit sky peering up to the meteors showering above, shared fantastic food from culinary specialists while sharing stories and dreams. We were blessed to have a lost wallet returned and the crew to experience an adventure in life. A team stepping out of their comfort zone to enjoy the Sea of Abaco building an awareness of self and others in the beautiful world that God has blessed us all with.
Thank you Venture Scouts your energy aboard was enjoyed and we are in hopes of your return.
