14 August 2015
Youth at its best happy and free. Grateful for overcast skies for it is the perfect shade from heaven. Enjoyment comes from within as El Paso Texas Troop 187 exudes peace happiness and freedom! Evening reflections bring forth the days highlighted joys with tomorrows dreams and hopes revealed. A week is like a day and a day is like a week, sailing is a timeless adventure revealing nature and our quest for more revelation of the world we live in.
With a variety of weather and star filled nights this week adventure has taken us to beaches , towns , islands. reefs, a light house and a ship wreck all unique and different bring forth its own story. Fishing was light along with rain. Jumping off Don’t Rock is a fun challenge. The climb is steep and the jump is fun as you soar to the sea below, for some it is with a flip!
Florence continues baking fresh cinnamon buns at Treasure Cay and Water Cay sits quietly waiting for the troops to stoke the fire. Food becomes an adventure in its self. Cooking on the grill to hotdogs on the smokey fire out on Water Cay.
A calm in the sea allowed this weeks troop to snorkel the reef encrusted 1862 USS Adirondack ship wreck . Perseverance pays off by searching the reef eventually we found one cannon which led to many more and the remains of the hull which at one time was a mighty Civil War Ship.
At times we may face many challenges along the way each reveals our character and our faith. Our attitude displays our choice. As we choose well our smiles will grow, a struggle to smile is a good choice, a smile from the heart is worth more than words for it is life in it self. We know and come into understanding as we experience until then it is theory and imagination at its best. The high adventure is the living of life.
