Another great week on the water. With our guests flight coming in a day late from weather a 28 hour airport stay started their trip in the most unusually way. This made it double time on the water for us this week making sure we did not miss a beat. Troop 383 Bryan Texas a fabulous group of young men with wonderful leaders who will be missed onboard Adonai.
A late start did not slow us down.Conch from the reef was abundant accompanied by fresh fish deliciously prepared and enjoyed by all. The culinary arts this week has a high rating and is going to be a challenge to the next group to match or beat.
Captain's undefeated record in the Swim, Run, Crawl, Coconut Ironman was taken this week by Chief! The completion was close running neck in neck to Tahiti Beach. A casualty of coconut gathering was a fine set of blisters for a very worthy cause.
The wreck off of North Guana is an interesting stop of a mysteriously sunken barge along with various cargo giving wonder. No sculls or jewelry found a few golf carts here and there as the rain falls bringing enjoyment and play.
As the rain cleared up the rainbow stretch across the sky as we landed Water Cay. Crab racing on the island showed small and extremely large hermit crabs gathered by the scouts along with a lone ghost crab. Hot dogs roasted on an open fire, the sunset is in the air, the moon is rising over the pines as scouts run on the beach and play along the shore. Ending the evening with creative skits portrayed this weeks fun events .
It is 4:55p.m. Saturday the wind just gusted up to 40-45 blowing a steady 30! Adonai is rocking like crazy the wind grab the sail out of the sail bag raising it up the mast with pelting wind and rain. All in a days work on the Sea of Abaco. Unfortunately guys your flight is most likely on the ground. Captain and I are praying for safe and timely travels. You are certainly on a High Adventure this week. Remember "Attitude is your Latitude"
Thank you for sailing aboard Adonai on the Sea of Abaco with the Bahamas Sea Base High Adventure Program of the Boy Scouts of America. Stay tuned for more adventures to follow next week ...
