Rio Dulce to the Florida Keys

Our first day out was uneventful which means it was a great day. Calm seas with overcast sky, but no wind for our sail. Barely a boat was seen and the sea life was quiet . An occasional needle fish showing off on the surface appeared and two dolphin for a mere second.
Traveling during Covid has not been the easiest because rules keep changing. We checked out of Livingston Guatemala with no problems. Our agent Raul is the greatest. Covid testing was provided at a small cost of about 26 USD. We ended up staying in the mouth of the river waiting approval to enter Belize. Waiting, not knowing what the new rules are, makes it difficult to decide what is best. The winds are not looking good for the crossing to Florida for a while so we are biding our time along the way.
Today at day break we headed out as we have over stood our stay in Guatemala which has been absolutely wonderful in every way. The sky has been grey all day with chilly air. Just as we set our anchor down off of Sittee Point, Belize, the sun has appeared just in time to set!
Aboard are Stephen, Johanna , Caroline , Ted and Gail . We are grateful for this time of peace on board. We are praying for SE winds to cross the Yucatan to Key West. This is a tall order this time of year!
