The Awake Crew is headed out to sea , April 21 making the 6 pm Snake Creek bridge. 24 56 N : 80 34 W headed to the Abaco’s. For the last year we have been working to bring forth an event to encourage the people of the islands. Hurricane Dorian ravaged their beautiful oasis wIth covid 19 to top off the assault.
The vision of Awake started as we were preparing to bring hurricane relief supplies after the storm struck September 1, 2019 . Our organization flew in 1000 solar lights along with other items donated by our community and friends, to help the relief efforts, which was a world wide effort of large and small NGO”s, and people from all over the world. After the initial shock to the island and debris cleared from the harbors, we arrived February of 2020 with our sailing vessel loaded to the gunnels.
The island was decimated, a heart breaking sight as many lost lives and homes. Our hearts being touched deeply we helped with roofs, cleaning and spending time with people ministering to their hearts sharing the gospel of Jesus , hope in a hopeless time . God is still present in the storms of life. He will never leave us or forsake us, this is the peace of God which will carry you through.
Prior leaving our mission trip, the vision of Awake crashed down in our main salon and the group caught the fire. The words” bringing the hearts of the children back to the Father” came to our minds . It has a double meaning. Families were separated with children and moms on other islands until homes could be rebuilt. Our heavenly Father is also calling to the hearts of his children here on earth, to come into His blessing made available to all of man kind through His son .
