Niue Day 2
15 May 2008 | Niue Yacht Club
It is our second day in Niue and we are back sitting at the Yacht Club for it is raining again or should I say still. Today has been eventful this morning started by going to market ashore and meeting some nice local people and someone to which we could share our big catch with. Then we walked to the gas station to have a barrel of fuel sent down to the dock where we can then transport it by gerry can and dingy out to Gabriella. We would deliver our fish and retrieve our fuel both at noon a good productive morning. Well noon time came with a bang. We are very blessed and fortunate God continues to protect us. The dingy motor had an explosion and the cover came fling off. I jumped in th water to pull the dingy back over to Gabriellla as Ted jumped on board to grab the fire extinguisher and Trevor searched for the culprit. We were spared any damage the cover well may not look quite the same but the engine was fine and so are we. Back to the drawing board to look for a fuel leak. Fish delivered and fuel transported and here is the rain again so we sit dry and alive at Niue Yacht Club to share another day of tales. We had saved 1 last bag of fish steaks for Mamata here at the yacht club only to be busted . As we stepped ashore this afternoon the agricuture officer happened to be standing at the dingy lift. " Is that rubbish" No I say its fish would you like some? Apparently not I was made aware that I cannot take it ashore. Bummer !
