17 July 2008 | Savusavu Fiji
Todays surprise was the air port in Savusavu closed this Monday for renovations so Todd Renee and Janet are having to fly into Labasa and take the hour and a half bumpy cab ride after a 10 hour flight from California to Nadi then catch the over booked puddle jumper into Labasa, Janet had an additional 6 hours of travel starting from Fl. Sailing and time schedules are not a mix as you can now see complications are forever present. They arrived safely at 3:30 p.m. tired and happy with stories to tell. I grabbed Janet before the sunset for my evening swim showing her the beautiful life below the sea. By 6:30 we were all ready and showered up to go into town for Indian cuisine and it was delicious.
The plan is to set sail in the morning after checking out and last minute supplies hopefully we will not have a new surprise.
08/7/18 Morning has come and this the day of departure. I already slipped on the back deck and landed on my knees and hands so I am in a good bruised state to start out. Last minute supplies and we are off . We will be keeping you posted by satellite sailing one wave at a time.
