gg and Ted
Hello everyone from gg. I have today been able to begin to tune into the river. The wind for wind surfing was up and I can smile today with progress I just may have a future in windsurfing after all. I was starting to think I better just hang up the gear and start knitting or something! The following is a beautiful letter from my husband Ted who continues sailing Gabriella to California. It looks like more sailing is in my future which is a good thing because I do not think I can be on land for too long my gills start to dry up!
Cruising along on lake Pacific, position 36 40'N 143 24'W the wind is still calm , we seem to be in the middle of a high pressure. I think if we can hold these calm conditions two more days we will get into a position to have some NW wind and a favorable current on into California. The wind charts do show some NE wind close to us, just hoping to avoid it and get to the NW wind. Just some reading and quiet time going on today, I think I'm going to clean some and then do a good work out and take a shower. the water is sure cold now , thanks for water heaters. Hope you get some good sailing in and enjoy yourself there. I think we are definitely on the down hill side of this journey and I'm looking forward to getting in and seeing you and adjusting back to land lifestyle. Although my mind is thinking of another trip with different routes to limit the long passages, I think you could do a trip with nothing over ten days until you went to cross the Atlantic , who knows what the future will bring. Thinking of you , Ted
