Winds Gale Force
30 August 2008 | Gabriella
gg and Ted
Gabriella is getting hammered and after being out to sea for 15 days a person starts to get worn down as the constant movement never stops ,sleep patterns are interrupted by watch and constant changes in the weather physical exhaustion starts to settle in along with mental fatigue. Please continue to pray for comfort, safety and a lulling of the wind and sea.
Aug. 30 a.m. moving along good this morning at 34 40'N 130 30'W wind is still blowing up and down some at 22-24 then some at 28-30. The seas actually seem to be better , I'm not sure why because the wind really is about the same, the ride is better though. Ted
I had spoken to Ted on the phone and the seas were 10 to 12 feet suprisingly small considering the wind. Water was breaking into the cockpit and the tempature in the main salon was down to 68. All were bundled in layers of clothing and sleeping much it had been a long night.
Aug. 30 p.m.
Our weather forecast is off! We have a real gale out here 30-35 true it is messy. We are still just making our way in it with very little sail up, we have turned south some to ease the conditions. If it starts to go to 40 knt we will probably deploy sea anchor. The boat seems fine and we are doing Ok , I just really want this wind to let up, PLEASE. I'll send you an update in the mourning. Ted
