A Night to Remember

Labor day weekend and I headed south this morning leaving Lyle Washington behind and ended up in Stockton California 12 hours later driving in circles looking for that late night dinner and room. I spoke with Ted earlier in the day and he spoke of last nigh being the most difficult sailing he has experienced. The seas at 20 feet were breaking in the cockpit flooding the main salon with 100 gallons of water 4 inches deep knocking the stools down the campion way. The galley was also being spilled on to the floor with the microwave being a near flying object. Renee explained to me later on the phone that they have not had a shower for 6 day. When they were in Hov-2 rescuing the surfboards was the last time they could make water which was days ago so water conservation had been in effect. The pounding of the seas has also loosened the seal on the escape hatch which is taking on small amounts of water to be sponged up. With a fortunate change of wind direction coming more on the stern Gabriella has 300 miles to go with the wind down under a true 30 she is moving swiftly home. Expected in San Diego early Wednesday Morning. Thank you Lord for protecting our loved ones and bringing Gabriella Home
Christi's prayer
"but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31 Our prayer for you Ted, & Trevor and your friends on Gabriella"
