Seeing How the Other Half Live

Well life on the Baja continues to be good. We have been slowly making our way north from La Paz and are now in the Puerto Escondito/Loreto area. We made stops in some of the places we loved last year like Isla San Francisco, San Evaristo, Los Gatos and Agua Verde. A new favourite that we discovered this year is Chico Candeleros which is a one boat anchorage just around the corner from Bahia Candeleros which is where we are now.
Bahia Candeleros is a fairly large bay and there is a brand new, very big resort that has only opened in the last year or so. It's a hotel/time share resort and because it has very low occupancy right now, they are very open and friendly towards the cruisers coming in and using the pool. In return I think there is an unspoken expectation for us to eat and drink and spend some money there. Ian and I have spent the last 2 days just hanging at the pool along with some of our cruiser friends. It's been fun to see how the other half live. I'd love to go into the hotel and get the tour but if you do that they do the pressure sales thing for selling time shares.
So now it's back to regular our regular life of swimming in the ocean, fishing and doing boat chores. Ian actually caught some fish yesterday which was nice as it's been awhile. We had a nice Yellowtail that we shared for dinner with Bill and Linda from Tanque de Tiberon last night.
We will be cruising around here for the next few weeks and then we will head back to La Paz to put Kasasa to bed for the summer months while we return to BC to organize a few things back home. Already the heat here is ramping up as we are experiencing days of over 30 degrees celcius with the humidity around 60 to 70%. We've had the sunshades up for the last week and the fans are running all day long. So it should be refreshing to step back into cooler days and nights when we go home at the end of June.
