Kong Jiam was a nice little town with not much to do in it. But why most people went there was because of the rare cave paintings, the biggest in the world! We started our adventure bright and early in the morning to beat the heat. We got into our new friend's car and were on our way. The drive was very pleasant. We passed big rock formations that looked like big mushrooms. Just around the bend, was the park information center where they had maps, paintings and photos of what we would see on the trail. We told our driver that four hours would be good and we set out on the trail.
The trail was very nice with paved walkways. We moved quickly, maybe even a little too quickly. The first painting we saw was a little faded but we walked a little further and we saw many paintings in a row. Blurred shapes of buffalo in the rice fields and hand prints were some of the shapes on the wall.
We finished the walk in about one and a half hours instead of four! But that gave us plenty of time for lunch and ice cream.
