Yes we made it .
After 28 very testing days from the Galapogos we finally saw the ist of the Marquesas (Fatu Hiva ) on July 17 a fantastic feeling . The ist 2 weeks were good sailing but the weather deteriorated during the 2nd , with numerious gales up to 30 knots .On many occasions it was bare poles only (but we still caught Fish ). We have made many friends here and run into many others that we met during our voyage .We have visited most of these fantastic islands staying 4 days at Fatu Hiva ,passing close to Motane island (anchoragr no good ) ,Heva Oa 2 days Tatuata 6 days Ua Pou 2 days and are prsently at Taiohae on Nuka Hiva . We have caught fish (Dorades and Mackeral )up to 40 kg swam with the dolphins ,walked in the mountains ,swam in the waterfalls and explored deserted tropical beaches .Did Island tour yesterday and about to leave for Bora Bora today Has it been fun .Yes most of the time

Finally made San Christobell on June 8 after leaving Panama on may 14 .Winds drove us South as did the current so headed to Bahia de Caraquez in Ecuador where we stayed for 12 days leaving there for Galapagos on June 2 .Bahia is a great place, friendly people and very laid back but the entrance to the port requires a pilot which costs $30 contact Puerto Amistad web site for details . The sail from Bahia to San Christobel went well with largly good winds ,but for Maureen and me the 12 days not sailing at Bahia ment 4 more days to get our sea stomachs again .Plan on leaving here in a couple of days but the winds are not consistantly south east as yet .Have to psyke ourselves up for the big leg to the Marquesers
