HEADING FOR HOME
16 July 2010 | Papeete, Tahiti

Focusing on getting home to Australia as fast as possible, yet stopping at every Pacific "Paradise" for a taste, we came up with an itinerary. Of course dates are flexible, due to weather, the unforeseen and bureaucratic madness!
Here it is:
Leave Tahiti on the 26/7/10 for the Leeward Islands: Moorea, Huahine, Raiatea and Bora Bora
Depart Bora Bora about the 13/8/10 for the Cooks arriving in Rarotonga on about the 19th of August. Spend about 6 days there in Rarotonga
Leaving for Niue on the 26/08/10. Spend about 6 days there in Niue
Depart Niue on 6/09/10 Arrive Neiafu Vava'u Tonga, on the 08/09/10. Spend 10 days in Vava'u
Depart for Savusavu in Fiji on 19/09/10 Arrive Savusavu in Vanua Levu Fiji on the 23/09/10
Sail to Suva to check out around 6/10 leaving on around the 11/10/10 Arriving in New Caledonia about 18/10/10
Depart New Caledonia for Bundaberg, QLD, Australia about 31/10/10
Arrive Bundaberg, Australia about 10/11/10
Once back in Aus, we would like to haul the boat out and paint the bottom, stock up on food and do any repairs, then head south, stopping in Sydney. We may stop other ports if needed, and I would like to visit my brother.
We should reach Tasmania by late December (maybe earlier), depending how long we stay in Sydney, where my daughters Kate and Emma live and where I was born and grew up.
Sailing up the River Derwent to Constitution dock will be a thrill - the end of the crossing of the Pacific! Come to think of it - we probably will not be allowed in there, as preparations for the Sydney Hobart race will be in full swing!
