Missing You
10 February 2011
Friends - it's been a while since my last post (Feb 3) and nothing much has been happening. We have been setting up our land base, in the back room of the house we own, and cleaning up there, slowly establishing this as our place of residence, and slept there a few nights. I have been seeing the doctor and having tests and X-rays. Catching up with more old friends.
But the boat feels like home. I guess the persona I have evolved in the last couple of years - out cruising - has been finely adapted to the boat, so there is a good fit there. The making of the next persona has only just begun; I can't just pick up the one I used before I went cruising - it doesn't feel like me at all. Most of my possessions which I left behind appear now as if they were someone else's possessions. I am estranged from the life I led before, and am in no hurry to pick it up.
Jim with his wife Kent from Sea Level are here in Tassie, and he said to us yesterday why don't you come with us, we are headed for Malaysia? And I admit I felt a tug.
Today or tomorrow we will visit the Wooden Boat Show, and I'll report on that.
