Major change of plans ...
26 April 2009 | La Playita anchorage, Panama, soon on the way to Mexico!

Major change of plan: change of destination, sailing date the same; not the Pacific, but laying a course for Mexico now!
Spent all day discussing our options. Consulted the I Ching for help in choosing that destination which is "fortuitous for all concerned". Reviewed the options: Pacific/Caribbean/Europe/Nova Scotia/Peru/Chile/Vancouver/Mexico/Ecuador/Hawaii/United States/Panama. Discussed our feelings, fears and love of each country. Made a joint decision. Mexico. Acapulco first stop.
Fortunately the previous owner and his wife cruised from San Francisco to Panama, and as it was their first cruise, bought all the charts for the trip. These charts remain on board, complete with a highly detailed chart guide to Mexico and four cruising guides! Many of the forty or so cruising boats in the anchorage have come down that way, so first-hand knowledge is available for the asking.
"Yachtsmen's plans are written in the sand at low tide" ... ... ...
One of the last freedoms ... ... ... to change your mind.
We feel confident in this decision, and are looking forward to seeing Zihuatanejo, Mazetlan, Huatulco, Peurto Vallarta, Sea of Cortez, La Paz, Cabo San Lucas, Islas Espiritu Santos and ... the Midriff Islands!
We plan to go to the Pacific next year, jumping off from Mexico.
We'll keep you up to date via this blog (www.yachtaura.com).
Don't worry about pig flu - there's always something to worry about if you really want to.
Love to you each one!
