Yacht Cerulean Atlantic Adventure

We set sail from our home port of Gosport on 30th July 2018 and took a leisurely cruise along the south coast of the UK to Plymouth. Our first voyage being a short hop up to Yarmouth IOW. We set off the next day for delightful but bumpy anchorage in Lulworth Cove before moving on to meet Alison's friend Pogo in Weymouth.

After a couple of days in Weymouth we sailed around to Dartmouth taking the inshore route around Portland Bill and caught a couple of mackerel on the way.

My son Alex and his family joined us for the weekend in Dartmouth and we all enjoyed a short sail round to Brixham for an overnight stop and back again to Dartmouth.

Upon leaving Dartmouth we encountered a engine problem, the starter motor had not disengaged from the engine and blew up the engine batteries. We managed to sail back into Darthaven Marina in Dartmouth where the engineers at Darthaven managed to get us going again after a few frustrating days.

We eventually managed to escape from the beautiful River Dart and make our way for an overnight stop on a buoy at Salcombe, moving on the next day to a delightful stopover at Newtown Ferrars where we took the dinghy up to explore Noss Mayo.

Plymouth was a couple of hours motor from Newtown Ferrars where we arrived on the 9th August in time to pick up Alison's borther, another Richard, who was joining us for the voyage down to La Coruna.
