Fayre Wynds and Kynd Seas
As we approach the half way mark the winds have settled to a steady SW f4-5 and the seas have calmed down, hardly seems we are moving sometimes.
The small tear we had in the genoa, looked a bit bigger this morning, so have furled that sail away as we do not want a bigger repair than necessary. I have now rigged the secondary forestay and hoisted the Yankee Jib, seams almost as big the genoa, it is a nice sail and sets well.
We are on a broad reach at the moment and making reasonable progress, we seem to alternate between a broad reach and a run, with the head sail poled out the other side. It only takes a few minutes to gybe the headsail from one side to another. We are still heading north of the line to make sure that we can keep some good wind in our favour. There does not look to be any nasties in the offing, only worry is the high settling over the Azores in a few days time that may take our wind as we approach, mahy have to motor the last day or so, we shall what happens
We are still sailing in close company with SY Emotion which is good. It is a comfort for both of us.
