Ilas Cies to Baiona; 9nm travelled
04 September 2013 | Baiona, Galicia, Spain
Nichola / hazy cloud, cooler
Sunset on Islas Cies
We decided to leave Islas Cies this afternoon for the short trip to Baiona to give us a full day there tomorrow. The islands are lovely but in two days we'd seen and done pretty much all there was. We motored the whole way on another windless day. More cloud today and a bit cooler.
As it was so calm we decided to do some engine rev tests to see what speed we get at certain revs, so that we can work out our optimum fuel consuption to speed is (yes we are both engineers ;-) ) but when we increased to 2200 rpm the engine started stuttering and the revs dropped back. We cut the revs further, increased back to about 1900rpm and all was ok. Colin switched tanks too incase there was crud in the starboard tank that was causing the problem. He has the pleasure of doing a filter change tomorrow.
We're now anchored to the east of the marinas at Baiona, we may head in at the weekend so we can go to visit Vigo by bus.
Not much else to report - curry for tea with some pimientos thrown in. Maybe we'll find the hot one today!
