Previously a shelf
Where by trying to do one job you discover a whole load more that needs to be done before you can get back to the job you started in the first place.
This happened today with the fridge fix. Colin took the fridge compressor from under the galley sink and moved it into it's new home under the nav station seat. It fitted - just! Or as Colin is liking to think - the space he made was perfectly sized.
Having moved the fridge he then had to get the power wires and coolant pipes out which meant emptying out the rest of the cupboard, taking out a shelf and taking up the cupboard floor. What once had been ply was now several separate pieces of wood, some pieces curling up at the ends. Water had run down the coolant pipes and gathered on the shelf and floor, disolving away the 34 year old glue joining the sheets together. Better make a new shelf then! The floor replacement can wait until next winter.
Under the galley cupboard floor - ming!
I had another good walk with the Lagos Strollers yesterday. It was blowing a hoolie from the south east but for a lot of the walk the wind was behind us and once behind the hills we were in shelter. The walk went from Vila de Bispo out to the west and down onto a west coast beach where there was some good surf. We got a bit of sand exfoliation on the beach but found a sheltered spot for our sarnies whilst watching a surfer. It was good to get out and blow the hangover cobwebs away after another night of too much fun involving mountains of pizza, Medromel liquer and swinging giant balls.
