This fancy gadget allows me to make zigzag stitches on my Singer 201K sewing machine, which only does straight stitches. Bought from Ebay for £12 and works a treat allowing different size zigzags to be stitched as well as having a straight stitch setting so that you don't have to keep swapping feet when you want to swap between straight and zigzag.

I ran the sewing machine for the first time with the 240v inverter as we were making plenty of power with blue skies and a breeze blowing down the river. The machine worked well and didn't put much drain on the batteries.


Here is what I made, a cover for the dinghy petrol tank using some spare white vinyl to help protect the tank from the sun.
