We are about to take off again in a couple of hours, yay! The stay here was a little longer than we expected.

Day 5 - continued
I (Ann) got a dingy ride ashore with our lovely cruising neighbors and could pick up engine parts, add money to our US phone (which has been of extensive use these days) and hit the grocery store - all with the help of four friendly Uber drivers. After fixing the engine, we invited our new cruising friends Kara, John and their little boy Dean for drinks and dinner. What joy socializing onboard at anchor, it's been a while and raised our spirits.

Day 6. Thursday May 23.
Take-off day, we thought. But with an engine that refuses to go in reverse we had to rethink. Captain eventually solved the problem but by then it was too late to leave. Another big adventure today was visiting the marina dock, filling diesel and water. We're back to square one and SO ready.

Day 7.
We'll take off around 4pm EST and are spending the day getting things back in order after repairs, writing a new menu plan (hoping to be able to exchange some of the "boring" choices like eggs and bacon for really fresh fish).

So far, the menu has looked like this for dinner (we don't eat much during the day)
Days 1: Boeuf bourguignon that we had prepared before takeoff.
Day 2: Piccata Milanese (veal schnitzel dipped in egg and parmesan, served with yummy tomato sauce)
Day 3: Beautiful Farmer's Market sausages and zucchini on the grill
Day 4 and 5: Lamb Kleftiko (pieces of lamb, bell peppers, onion, garlic, tomatoes, feta cheese and lots of herbs, cooked slowly in the oven).
Day 5: Burgers and veggies on the grill
Day 6: Leftover burgers and sausages with tasty yoghurt, garlic and spinach sauce
Day 7: tonight we will have our premade meatsauce with pasta - unless there's fish!
I have NO idea how I have lost 3 pounds already! Possibly because days at sea are like a continuous gym session, even when you are sitting down or sleeping.

Our next sunset should be without a coastline! Wish us luck!
