In Las Palmas. Arrived a couple of hours ago. Totally brutal sailing last night. Acceleration zone south of Fuerteventura was expected. Gusting 48knots (v bottom F10) was not. Full story to follow. Relieved to be here. Boat went brilliantly as ever. Crew as usual the weak link, both of us well out of our comfort zone but we got on with it, no option really, going back would have meant tackling it again. Tim’s uncle Bob and others warned us about these areas so we were sort of prepared just not for wind strength.
